Surfing

Kayaking
There is no better way to explore the bay than in a sea kayak. Or if you are brave enough, why not enter some of the seaside caves.

Fishing
Fish off the beach or rocks, bring your own boat, hire one or spend the day fishing with Bob.

The Far North

You may not want to leave Taupo Bay, but if you do there are lots of options including joining a bus tour to Cape Reinga and the very tip of New Zealand.

15- Minute Drive to Mangonui and Doubtless Bay
Try the fish and chips and Mangonui’s legendary fish and chip shop overlooking the harbour.

Explore the shops and historic buildings and walk the waterfront.

Enjoy a coffee looking over the harbour, or a beer at the Mangonui Hotel.

A walk up to Rangikapiti Pa will reward you with a panoramic view overlooking Mangonui Harbour.

Mangonui Harbour on one side and the whole of Doubtless Bay on the other.

Tee off at Carrington Resort Golf or go wine tasting on the Karikari Peninsula

One Hour North:
Kaitaia, Ahipara, Shipwreck Bay and 90 Mile Beach
